ARIADNE
A European Association open to the World, for Knowledge Sharing and Reuse, Europe – Dr. Eric Duval, Director

He is a professor in the research unit on hypermedia and databases, at the computer science department of the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven.
Current research interests are:
- metadata in a wide sense, learning object metadata in particular, and how they enable finding rather than searching;
- an open, global learning infrastructure based on open standards;
- human-computer interaction in general, and in a learning or digital repository context in particular, so that we can "hide everything but the benefits";
- the application of information and communication technology in education and training.

Education Australia – Garry Putland, Director

Garry Putland is currently responsible for the development of new services and business opportunities for education.au. He works closely with peak bodies and national/state organisations and has extensive experience in developing services which contribute towards strategic national priorities. Garry develops, negotiates and manages alliances both nationally and internationally where it brings benefit to the Australian education and training community. He sits on an international review panel for the European Commission for a pan-European national e-learning project and is a member of the international GLOBE initiative which links like agencies in Canada, Japan, the US, Europe and Australia. Garry was the co-writer of the education.au ‘Emerging Technologies’ paper (2005), which explored the impact of emerging technologies in education. He has presented as keynote speaker at the TUANZ e-learning conference (2006), NIME (Japan) International Conference (2005) and the MERLOT (US) conference (2004). Although Garry’s background is in secondary teaching he has post graduate qualifications in Information Systems and is part way through a Masters of Information Innovation. Garry is a member of the Australian Telecommunications Users Group (ATUG), and he is a member of the Microsoft Partners in Learning Australian Advisory Board.

Claire is the coordinator for the LORNET Theme 6 research activities, the bridge between system developers and instructional designers, and as such well informed and able to delegate your questions to the right person within the LORNET pan-Canadian Research Project. She has participated in repository projects since 2003, namely the eduSource project as well as the design and validation of the Explor@-2Learning Resource Manager, the system on which the PALOMA was built founded.
MERLOT
Multimedia Educational Resource for Learning and Online, USA – Gerry Henley, Director

She is the Director of Academic Partner Services at MERLOT. She received a B.S. in Marketing at Penn State, MBA at Indiana University, and Ph.D. at University of North Texas. She has published over 30 journal articles and numerous proceedings. Until recently she was a Professor of Marketing at Georgia Southern University and received the Outstanding Georgia WebMBA Faculty Award, College of Business Administration Award for Sustained Excellence, College of Business Administration Professor of the Year Award, University Award for Teaching Excellence and COBA Award for Teaching Excellence. She has worked part time on MERLOT since 1999 as Editor of the Business discipline as well as Manager of the Editorial Boards. She started working full time on the MERLOT project in June 2006. Her research interests are in the areas of online teaching, teaching pedagogy and international business.
NIME

Tsuneo Yamada is a President’s Advisor and a professor of Research and Development Department, National Institute of Multimedia Education (NIME) and an Adjunct Professor of Department of Cyber Society and Culture, the Graduate School for Advanced Studies, Japan. His main research fields are Educational Technology, Learning Psychology, and Second Language Learning. He has been engaged both in the study on advanced use of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in educational fields and in the development of various e-learning materials. Under the new project, his current interests are on the development and evaluation of learning objects, the strategies for their sharing and distribution, and their quality assurance. He is participating in Global Learning Object Brokered Exchange (GLOBE) Initiative from NIME. He is a member of the board of directors, Accreditation Council for Practical Abilities (ACPA).
