ADL - African Digital Library
The Mission of the ADL is to provide digitised full text resources to learners in Africa via the Internet, thereby contributing to the revitalization of education and life long learning on the continent and alleviation of the digital divide between First and Third world countries. The ADL was created in the spirit of the African Renaissance.
AVU - African Virtual University
The AVU was initially launched in 1997 as a World Bank project. It has its headquarters in Nairobi, Kenya and a regional office in Dakar, Senegal, to service partner institutions in Francophone and Anglophone West Africa and the Arab countries in North Africa. Their mission is to facilitate the use of Open Distance and eLearning (ODeL) methodologies in African Tertiary Institutions.
